On Outlawing Christianity

Published by kevinfreeman1101 at 8:37 pm under Political Rants Edit This

There is currently a resolution being considered by the U.N. called the “Defamation of Religions” act. While the name of the act sounds like it’s probably a good thing, the international legislation would allow countries within the U.N. to criminalize Christianity, Judaism, Bhuddism, and every other religion except for Islam. And of course, the act is being pushed by the OIC, or Organization of the Islamic Conference. It’s not the first time that this organization has tried to justify their belief that all non-muslims should be prosecuted, and without a doubt it won’t be the last. What’s scarry about this, however, is that there are still quite a few countries voting for the measure. As a matter of fact, until recently, there were actually more countries voting for the measure than against!  The very idea of this is appalling and nonsensical, but the U.N. is considering making this an international law? For more information, or to sign a petition against this act, I ask any who read this post to go to the ACLJ’s website: https://www.aclj.org/Petition/?ac=1&sc=3387

That’s so unfair it’s heard of. Nothing like the equality we take for granted! GOSH that makes me angry.

@mikeywriteswell: You are essentially correct; Defamation of Religions doesn’t literally criminalize anything, but it does make it legal for any nation within the U.N. to criminalize even speaking about religion, with special exception for Islam. In other words, if this were to become law, Islamic countries around the globe would be able to persecute, arrest, and execute anyone within their jurisdictions who proclaims a faith other than Islam without any global repercussions. Keep in mind that innumerable Muslim organizations and their followers already believe that it is their religious duty to exterminate non-Muslims. Any way you look at it, it’s real and it’s imminent if we don’t try to stop it.

@Dajjal: Thanks for the helpful link and info. You are exactly right about speaking with our Representatives, Senators, and anyone else with U.N. influence. It is only when we act together that we can accomplish truly great things.

So who do we write to exactly? I wouldn’t mind composing a few letters on the subject. Anyone else feel like the world is spinning out of control or is it just me? Not only is our freedom of speech and press under attack but now they want to tell us which religions is ok and not ok to be a part of? Come on!!!

As much as I hate to admit it, this surprises me very little though I’ve not heard of this particular thing before. Something tells me I’m about to have a rant of my own so I’ll go ahead and cut this comment short, but thank you for posting this blog. People need to be more aware of these kinds of things. The fact no one seems to talk about it is just sad. :(

Welcome to Today, by the way.
    Jen

@Diana: I would write at least 4 very important people: Our senators, our congressmen(and women), our president, and most importantly our Maker. thanks for the comment.

@jen: Thanks Jen, for the post and the welcome. I must say that I’m often disappointed at the things today’s media decides are unworthy of their coverage. Thankfully, there are organizations like the ACLJ that are willing to fight for and cover these issues.
